Song #6

Whoa! Song #5 sure took a beating in the polls. Note to self: don't write anymore songs like that one! Seriously though, I appreciate everyones honesty.
This weeks song came about in a very strange way. I had a dream I was walking down a street and I heard someone singing. Upon closer inspection, I saw that it was Bill Cosby, and he was sitting on the steps of an old brownstone singing this song. I woke up and realized it was definitely not Bill Cosby's song, or anyone elses song for that matter, so I wrote it down. This is the first song that has ever come to me in a dream. I wish they were all like that--so much easier.

You know that point in a break up where you are just exhausted and can't take anymore shit emotionally--usually that comes right before the stage where you're just f***ing angry and realize they weren't any good anyway--yeah, this is that song.

Song #6 is called Cry

Hey! For the record I loved Song 5!

I liked this one better than Original Girl, but, like someone said for the last song, it seems like the vocals are mixed a little loud. Not a lot, but just a touch. It kind of throws you back. However, good lyrics, good melody, it's got a beat and you can cry to it. :)

Nice intro!! However, I don't quite like the chorus, though. Maybe because of the lyrics in the chorus part.

I really like this song too. Listening to it, I thought that it'd be great in a movie soundtrack...at one of those pivotal parts where the lead character goes through memory lane...and possibly walking in the rain or something like that...

Really great song. And I'm not just saying that.

I told you it was catchy!

I liked your Cry song and it was a really good distraction from all this homework I'm doing on a Friday night. :)

My reaction really echoes that of Coconutshell. In the intro, this reminiscent feeling washed over me and it left me with a feeling of quiet acceptance without grief for what was and is no longer. The chorus was okay and I do agree with Think Frustrated about the vocals being a little loud. But, I really do like this one.

And you dreamt that Bill Cosby was singing this? That disturbs me somewhat (haha)!

Great song and I'm happy to hear that you are not dejected by comments from previous songs. You shouldn't be. You definitely possess the talent and spirit.

i love the melody and lyrics...definitely evokes that stage in a relationship. seems like a song one would here on the soundtrack to an indie film :)

It was nice. . . made me want to fall asleep and cry. Heh, anyways, nice melodies, though the background acoustics could have been a little more dominant.

How fitting that your latest song is called "Cry", at a time when I am reading a book that makes me do nothing but.

Oh, J. Please write a song called, "Laugh", would you? And maybe I can pick up a good joke book next week...
